Sugarman Lands Master’s Women’s Basketball Post

Ken Sugarman, a former men’s basketball player at The Master’s College, has been named coach of the women’s basketball team at the school.
Sugarman replaces Susan Anderson, who served as coach for one year.
Anderson left Master’s to plan for her marriage to Rogerio Soares, a senior forward on the men’s team.
Sugarman, who was an assistant coach at a high school in Washington, played at Master’s in 1991.
Softball
Play was postponed Thursday for Cal State Northridge at the Cal State Fullerton tournament.
Sixth-ranked Northridge (20-7) was scheduled to play top-ranked Arizona in a pool-play game, but all 10 games on the schedule were postponed.
Northridge beat Texas A&M;, 7-3, in its first tournament game Wednesday. The Matadors face UC Santa Barbara today at 9 a.m. in a regularly scheduled pool-play game and Arizona at 1 p.m.
Bracket play is scheduled to begin Saturday.
Golf
Michelle Sprinkling and Susan Erlandson, both of Somis, teamed to shoot 155 over 36 holes to win the championship flight of the Saticoy Country Club’s annual women’s better-ball tournament.
