Valley Crest Landscape Inc., a Calabasas-based landscaping and construction company, said it has been awarded an $18-million contract to construct the equestrian center for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Valley Crest said it began work on the 200-acre equestrian complex six months ago after winning the contract from the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. The project, which will include a stadium, plaza, barns and training areas, is scheduled to be completed in July, said Jerry Cox, director of business development at Valley Crest.
Valley Crest, a subsidiary of Calabasas-based Environmental Industries Inc., also did refurbishing work at the Los Angeles Coliseum for the 1984 Olympics, Cox said. A 46-year-old company with 3,500 employees, Environmental Industries said it had revenue of $210 million in 1994.
