3 Post Offices Prepare for Last-Minute Filers
- Share via
Three Ventura County post offices will stay open late Monday night, giving tax procrastinators until the very stroke of midnight to file their returns.
The Simi Valley main post office at 2551 Galena Ave., the Thousand Oaks main post office at 3435 Thousand Oaks Blvd., and the Oxnard post office at 1961 N. C St. will all remain open until the income tax deadline.
Tax day is April 17 this year because the traditional deadline, April 15, is on a weekend.
Postal Service officials said taxpayers can avoid crowds by mailing the returns before the deadline. For those who wait until the last minute, however, clerks will be available to collect and postmark all returns deposited by midnight.
