McDonnell Douglas, UAW Reach Tentative Accord: The new agreement, reached late Thursday, covers 9,000 workers in California, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Details, including the length of the contract, weren’t disclosed, pending ratification votes Sunday, the United Auto Workers’ aerospace division said. McDonnell Douglas Corp. also declined to release information. The new agreement would cover employees in McDonnell Douglas’ commercial jet and C-17 military transport programs in Long Beach; Melbourne, Ark., and Tulsa, Okla. Negotiations followed the expiration of the previous four-year agreement at midnight Sunday. St. Louis-based McDonnell Douglas employed 65,072 at the end of March, compared with 65,760 at year-end 1994.
