Markee Brown, a former standout at El Camino Real High, will accept a basketball scholarship offer from Oregon State today, Los Angeles City College Coach Mike Miller said Tuesday.
Brown averaged 16.5 points and four assists for an L.A. City team that finished 33-2.
A 6-foot-1 guard, Brown shot 50% from the field, including 44% from three-point range.
“He’s big-time on defense, a great defensive specialist,” Miller said. “He’ll be the guy who guards everybody’s best player.”
Brown was L.A. City’s most valuable player. He is the first player signed by recently hired Oregon State Coach Eddie Payne.
