* Imagine the reaction if Africans decided to exterminate lions, leopards and cheetahs so that they could jog, bike and carelessly frolic in the Serengeti and the Kalahari.
Yet ever-increasing hordes of me-first Californians, who insist on jogging, biking and carelessly frolicking in our rapidly dwindling wilderness, think it’s their prerogative to demand the “management” (i.e., elimination) of a magnificent species of great cat that’s reigned in the California wilderness for about 100,000 years.
How would you feel about that if you had created the cougar?
