Authorities have identified the two people killed in a head-on collision as a Simi Valley woman and an Oxnard man.
The victims were identified as Sara E. Paganelli, 27, and Juan Luis Ortiz Vamudio, 33.
Police said Paganelli was driving her Mazda pickup on the wrong side of California 118 west of Walnut Avenue on Sunday night when it struck Vamudio’s Chevy Camaro.
Two passengers in Vamudio’s car were seriously injured in the accident. Rene Jose Topete, 15, of Moorpark was listed in critical condition Monday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, and Maritza Gonzales, 17, also of Moorpark, was listed in stable condition at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Police said Paganelli, who was driving more than 80 m.p.h., had been driving recklessly with her headlights off at times and crossing double yellow lines.
