Duarte: Petition Bid to Recall 3 on Council

The recall petition going on in Duarte is simply to remind Mayor Jim Kirchner, Phillip Reyes and John Fasana that betraying public trust will not be tolerated or condoned by responsible and concerned residents of the city.
Voting to put it on the ballot last November, the Duarte City Council showed respect to their constituents by having the people vote for or against the new tax.
However, Kirchner, Reyes and Fasana decided to thumb their noses at the people by withdrawing the tax measure from the ballot and imposing it themselves, thereby depriving their subjects a democratic say on the new tax.
