SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS : Sites Sought for New Park Center
- Share via
The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area has a new superintendent and is setting its sights on finding new headquarters, the National Park Service has announced.
Veteran parks manager Art Eck begins work at the Agoura Hills office July 9. He replaces Dave Gackenbach, who retired three months ago.
Eck, a 19-year veteran of the National Park Service, has managed parks in southern Missouri and Northern California.
Meanwhile, the park service is soliciting suggestions on a site for the new headquarters.
The recreation area stretches from the Oxnard Plain to the western edge of Griffith Park.
The service asks that suggestions be mailed to Acting Supt. Scott E. Erickson, Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, Suite 100, 30401 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills 91301.
