IP Hikes Bid for Swiss Firm: International Paper Co. raised its hostile offer for Swiss fiber and paper group Holvis, but the Swiss company said it was sticking with its white-knight rescuer, Britain’s BBA Group. Purchase, N.Y.-based IP, the world’s largest paper company, boosted its month-old bid to $483 a share from $382 to counter last week’s surprise deal between Holvis and BBA.
