NAFTA’s Impact on California: The effect that the North American Free Trade Agreement has had on California and its economy will be the subject of a daylong hearing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, 350 S. Bixel St. The hearing, sponsored by California’s Trade and Commerce Agency, will focus on the benefits of the landmark trade agreement and outline how California companies can take advantage of it. Topics include the impact on the economy in general and on such specific sectors as manufactured goods, services and agriculture; changes in export and import procedures, and remaining technical and administrative barriers and policy perceptions.
