SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Community Center Design to Be Topic

The design for a new community center will be the topic for a public workshop Wednesday.
The City Council has approved funding for a 9,000-square-foot first phase of a 32,000-square-foot building in the city’s future sports park next to Marco Forster Middle School at Del Obispo Street and Camino del Avion.
The 7 p.m. workshop in the La Sala Room of the San Juan Capistrano Library is the first of several to discuss goals for the center and how it might serve residents. The library is at 31495 El Camino Real.
The council has earmarked $3.8 million for the sports park, which will include ball fields, dugouts and bleachers.
