Donahue Picks Woman as Running Mate: AFL-CIO presidential candidate Tom Donahue has chosen Barbara Easterling, a top officer of the Communications Workers of America, to be his running mate for the No. 2 job in the labor federation, a source said. Easterling, now secretary-treasurer of the CWA, would become the first female to hold one of the two top jobs at the labor federation. The announcement was scheduled for today.
