GARDEN GROVE — Police are searching for a man who entered a computer parts business Monday and demanded cash at gunpoint but settled for two boxes of memory chips worth about $17,000.
The heist occurred about noon when a man wearing a blue baseball cap, a navy blue shirt and jeans approached a receptionist at a business in the 12700 block of Valley View Street, Lt. John Woods said.
The assailant pointed a semiautomatic handgun at the receptionist and demanded money. She told him cash was not kept at the company and pointed to two boxes of computer chips, Woods said.
“He tied her hands, took the chips and fled,” Woods said.
No injuries were reported, police said.
