High School Jazz Bands

* On June 7, I had the pleasure to hear two Los Angeles high school jazz bands from Fremont High and Washington High give a concert at the California Plaza Spiral Court. The musicianship of the groups was great and presented the positive side of our young people. As the leader of the Washington High jazz band stated, let a fight occur at the schools and the media will be out with their armies, but let these schools present a positive image and no people from the media will show up. That was true on June 7 and for many other positive performances by our young people.
