Craig Trails by Three in Junior Golf Tournament

Kelly Craig of Orange shot a one-under-par 71 Tuesday in the first round of the American Junior Golf Assn. boys’ 15-18 Mission Hills Desert tournament at Rancho Mirage.

Craig is behind leaders Camron Howell of Thatcher, Ariz., Joel Kribel of Pleasanton and Jason Allred of Ashland, Ore., who all shot a 68. Boyd Summerhays of Farmington, Utah, had a 70 on the 6,894-yard Dinah Shore tournament course.

John Park, Terry Noe, Jeffrey McGraw and Jin Park, all from Fullerton, finished at 74. Stephen Wagner of Mission Viejo shot a 75 and Ryan Donovan of Yorba Linda had 76.

In the girls’ 15-18 tournament, Julie Oh of Torrance, Grace Park of Phoenix and Dorothy Delasin of Daly City, Calif., share the lead at 72.

Ronald Won of Irvine shot a 75 in the 13-14 boys’ competition. Ben Flam of Phoenix leads with a 72.
