Venegas Wins Four-Lap Scratch Main Event

COSTA MESA — Charlie Venegas of San Bernardino won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 3,482 at the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Steve Lucero of Riverside was second, Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa third, Andy Northrup of Ontario fourth and Robert Pfetzing of Tustin was fifth.

Jesse Finch of Orange won the eight-lap handicap main event. Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was second, Lucero was third, Mark Hannah of Newport Beach was fourth and Venegas was fifth.
