Son of Gulch Goes for $475,000 at Sale

LEXINGTON, Ky. — English bloodstock agent Charlie Gordon-Watson paid a top price of $475,000 for a son of Gulch during Wednesday’s session of the September Yearling Sale at Keeneland.
Gordon-Watson represented an American partnership and said the colt, who is out of Balinese, by Nijinsky II, will remain in the United States to race.
Second high price of the session was $330,000 paid by Little Fish Stables of Buffalo Grove, Ill., for a colt named President’s Decree, by Capote.
During Wednesday’s session, Keeneland sold 290 horses for $16,146,000. The average was $55,676. At the same point last year, 312 horses were sold for $14,821,500, an average of $47,505.
