VENTURA : Illusionist Will Perform at Benefit

Illusionist Andre Kole, creative consultant for well-known magician David Copperfield, will perform at a benefit for a nonprofit Christian group at 7 p.m. Friday at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
The highlight of the “Andre Kole Magical Spectacular” comes when the magician makes a 10-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty vanish in slow motion. He will be assisted by Miss Arizona 1992, Robin Rayborn.
It’s a return Ventura County engagement for the Tucson, Ariz.-based showman, who played three sold-out shows at Oxnard Civic Auditorium last year.
Proceeds will benefit the Ventura County chapter of Student Ventures, an arm of the religious group Campus Crusades for Christ, director Dennis Maness said. Camarillo-based Student Ventures provides biweekly Friday night activities for high school-age youths throughout the county.
Tickets to Kole’s performance are $5.50 for students, $6.50 for adults at Christian Family Supplies stores in Camarillo and Oxnard or at the door.
