COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Cypress Stops Glendale in Men’s Soccer

Duje Babarovic, Israel Cedillo and Shaun Anderson each scored goals to help Cypress defeat Glendale, 3-1, in a nonconference men’s soccer game Tuesday at Cypress College. Goalie Jeff Gibson had 10 saves for Cypress (2-3).

Joe Paneno scored for Glendale (6-1).

In other nonconference games:

Los Angeles Mission 4, Orange Coast 3--Tomohito Atsumi, Bret Taylor and Jay Anderson each scored a goal in the losing effort for visiting Orange Coast (1-4-1). Los Angeles Mission remains undefeated (4-0-1).

Palomar 2, Irvine Valley 1--Irvine Valley’s Bobby Watts was red-carded and ejected from the game with 40 minutes left to play and Irvine Valley leading, 1-0. Palomar (4-2-1) scored two second-half goals to post the victory. Tony Guinane scored for Irvine Valley (4-1-2).

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Rancho Santiago 5, San Diego City 0--Thania Cruz scored two first-half goals for visiting Rancho Santiago (5-1), which outshot San Diego City, 21-9.

In Orange Empire Conference water polo:

Grossmont 20, Cypress 6--Jeff Link scored five goals for Cypress (0-7, 0-3). Grossmont improved to 13-2, 3-0.

Saddleback 18, SD Mesa 8--Brian Pearce scored four goals and and Tetsuro Ono added three for host Saddleback (5-4-2, 3-0).
