Shootings Leave 1 Man in Critical Condition

One Oxnard man was in critical condition Saturday after being shot late Friday in Oxnard’s La Colonia, police said Saturday.
Another man was treated and released after the shootings, which occurred about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Anita Avenue, police said.
Sergio Sanchez Maldonado, 24, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard after he was found shot in the head. He was in critical condition Saturday.
Jesus Martin Cervantes, also 24 and from Oxnard, was shot in his left foot. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Police suspect the shootings were gang-related, but they have no suspects, authorities said Saturday.
