COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Rangel Paces Rancho Santiago to Team Title

Jose Rangel finished first out of 138 runners to lead Rancho Santiago to the team championship of the Crystal Springs Invitational at the College of San Mateo.
Rancho Santiago finished with 46 points, five less than second-place Mt. San Antonio College.
Other Rancho Santiago runners to do well were Ben Mejia (seventh), Frank Hernandez (ninth) and Danny Gonzales (13th).
Orange Coast, which finished in fourth, was paced by Mike Hancock, who was sixth.
The Rancho Santiago women’s team placed fourth. Elli Estrada finished third to lead the Dons.
At the Long Beach women’s water polo tournament:
Saddleback takes two of three--Sandra Rugh had 11 goals in three games. Rugh had seven goals in a 19-2 victory over Citrus. She had three in a 14-10 victory over Long Beach and scored once in a 12-5 loss to Grossmont. Chelsea Rowlands had nine goals in the three games and Erin Nichols had eight goals in the tournament.
