Airport Closed After Plane Skids Off Runway
- Share via
Oxnard Airport was closed for nearly two hours Wednesday afternoon when a plane’s landing gear failed.
A twin-engine Cessna 310 piloted by James Sullivan of Ojai skidded off the runway, closing the facility while firefighters cleared the area.
The pilot walked away from the plane.
Other planes headed for the airport were sent to Camarillo Airport or told to remain in Los Angeles, according to airport Manager John Dodd. Outgoing planes were also delayed.
