PARKING THE PLAN: Plans to expand Raging Waters at the Frank G. Bonelli County Regional Park in San Dimas have been stymied by a flood of public comments on the county’s development proposal for the park.
The Board of Supervisors was to make a final decision in November after county officials considered public comments on an environmental impact report on the proposal to develop 52 acres of open park space.
But after receiving several hundred comments--many of them in opposition to the plan--from local agencies and residents in surrounding communities, county officials say the issue probably won’t go before the supervisors until early next year.
The Department of Parks and Recreation is reviewing the comments and may revise aspects of the plan before submitting it to the supervisors, said Jim Park, chief of the department’s planning division.
