Amgen Buys Colorado Land: Amgen Inc. has purchased 78 acres in Longmont and eventually may build a biotechnology manufacturing plant there. David Kaye, spokesman at Amgen’s Thousand Oaks corporate headquarters, said the company bought the land because of development restrictions in Boulder, where it now operates a manufacturing plant. The city of Boulder earlier this year approved growth limits on the amount of new commercial construction.
