Baldwins to Face Creditors: Scores of creditors owed millions of dollars by bankrupt Newport Beach home builder Baldwin Co. will have an opportunity to quiz the business’s millionaire owners Friday. Brothers Alfred and James Baldwin are scheduled to be on the stand in Los Angeles for a daylong creditors meeting called by the U.S. trustee’s office. The hearing, a routine part of a bankruptcy proceeding, gives the trustee’s office and individual creditors a chance to ask executives of a bankrupt business what they are doing to cure the company’s financial woes. The Baldwins have irked some creditors because they continue their lavish lifestyles and received huge pay raises just a few weeks before putting the business into Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in late July. The hearing, which begins at 9:45 a.m., will be held at 221 N. Figueroa St.
