LAGUNA BEACH — A 39-year-old man was killed early Sunday after his car went off Laguna Canyon Road and he was ejected through the sunroof, the California Highway Patrol said.
John Stewart Redfern, 39, of Laguna Beach was driving a 1995 Lexus at an unknown speed about 5 a.m. when his car veered onto the right shoulder, then rolled several times, a CHP dispatcher said. The accident occurred about 2 1/2 miles north of El Toro Road.
Redfern, who apparently was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene, the dispatcher said. The wreckage was discovered by passing motorists nearly two hours after the accident.
