Pacoima : City May Add Van to Seniors Shuttle Service
- Share via
The City Council on Wednesday will consider Councilman Joel Wachs’ motion to fund another van for the Northeast Valley Multipurpose Center.
Under Wachs’ proposal, the city would provide $47,000 for a third van for the Pacoima center’s door-to-door transportation program for frail seniors and people with disabilities.
Starting the week of Oct. 9, two vans began providing shuttle service for seniors living in Pacoima, Sylmar and other northeast Valley communities. Two vans are inadequate to serve the number of elderly in the area, according to Wachs’ motion.
The third van would serve seniors in the Sunland-Tujunga area, according to Wachs aide Paul Michael Neuman.
