BURBANK — A bicyclist who was struck by a car was listed in extremely critical condition Thursday, police said.
Peter Haight, 25, of Burbank was riding his bicycle north across Olive Avenue in front of NBC Studios just before 7 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound car driven by Julian Metter, 23, of Los Angeles, said Detective Rich Bison of the Burbank Police Department.
Metter’s car was unable to stop when Haight’s bike darted out in front of it, Bison said. Metter was questioned by police but was not arrested or cited.
“It was dark and the bicycle did not have any lights,” Bison said.
Haight, who was not wearing a helmet, is at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.
