ANAHEIM : Fall Events Finish Off October in a Flurry

A community festival, the final weekend of Oktoberfest, a traveling arts and crafts show and an inaugural Halloween party at Disneyland are among the fall activities closing out the month in Anaheim.
The Anaheim Fall Festival, including a parade, children’s carnival, chili cook-off, haunted house and craft booths, will run from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
The festival also will feature a pancake breakfast, live music, an open house at the new Disney Ice skating complex, a Day of the Dead exhibit at the Anaheim Museum and a community barbecue. At the Phoenix Club, a 25-piece band from Germany will perform as part of an annual Oktoberfest celebration that began in mid-September and continues through this weekend.
Music and dancing will be on tap Friday and Saturday evenings and starting at 11 a.m. Sunday. Also scheduled for Sunday are children’s rides and games. Admission is $6 for adults and free for those age 11 and younger. The Phoenix Club is at 1340 S. Sanderson Ave. Information: (714) 563-4166.
The Anaheim Convention Center will be the site of the 13th annual Harvest Festival, an arts and crafts marketplace touring the West Coast. Artists and artisans will wear early American costumes at the event, which will run today through Sunday.
There will be strolling musicians, folk art demonstrations, clog dancers and magicians. Items for sale will include pottery, ceramics, wooden toys, sculpture, furniture and holiday decorations.

Disneyland will host a family-oriented Halloween party from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. today, Monday and Tuesday.
“Mickey’s Halloween Treat!” will feature 50 trick-or-treating locations, “live ghosts” at the Haunted Mansion, hay rides and a “witch” flying off the Matterhorn on a broomstick. Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes, but masks are not allowed for safety reasons.
