Sparky Anderson is asking for too much money, according to a Red official, and Ray Knight refuses to accept a manager’s contract that will pay him only $100,000, the same as he earned as a coach.
Owner Marge Schott says she will promote triple-A Manager Marc Bombard if Knight or Anderson does not accept the offer.
