Westside : Serial Rapist May Have Struck Again
- Share via
A serial rapist who attacked two women and triggered widespread neighborhood fear in south Santa Monica last month may be responsible for the assault on a jogger in northern Santa Monica, police said.
Detectives said they will be treating the rape of a 55-year-old jogger abducted from Montana Avenue just after dawn Nov. 11 as perpetrated by the same suspect wanted in attacks on Oct. 4 and Oct. 8 several miles south. The physical description of the man matches in all cases, Sgt. Gary Gallinot said.
The attacks last month prompted hundreds of south Santa Monica residents to attend a community meeting where police warned worried citizens that a rapist appeared to be targeting their neighborhood.
