In the quarterfinals of the State community college water polo championships:
Golden West 12, West Valley 8--Jeremy Pope scored a game-high four goals to lead the Rustlers (28-4-1) at Merced College. J.R. Porter, Aron Quigley and Andre Araujo each scored twice for Golden West, the state’s third-ranked team, which advanced to today’s semifinals against Citrus, the state’s top-ranked team.
