Universal City : Man Killed Trying to Run Across Freeway

A man was killed when he tried to dash across the Hollywood Freeway and was hit by a car, authorities said Thursday.
The man, who carried material identifying him as Carlos Jimenez but not giving a residence, was crossing the northbound side of the freeway just south of the Lankershim Boulevard exit, CHP Officer Gary Goldenberg said. He made it to the farthest lane, then was hit by a car and died at the scene.
It was unknown why the man tried to cross the freeway, Goldenberg said.
