CHATSWORTH — Two teen-agers were arrested Thursday on suspicion of piling rocks and debris on train tracks used by Metrolink, which could have derailed a train, Los Angeles police said.
A police helicopter crew spotted a group of youths near the debris on tracks leading out of a tunnel in Chatsworth Park at about 2:30 p.m., LAPD Sgt. Kirk Wilder said. When the officers in the helicopter ordered the teen-agers to stop and remove the debris, they complied. As they left the park, he said, two were arrested.
One suspect, a juvenile, was released to his parents, while another, an 18-year-old, was booked at the Devonshire station and held on $15,000 bail, police said.
