COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Concordia Rallies to Beat Christian Heritage, 68-64

Concordia rebounded from a seven-point halftime deficit and defeated Christian Heritage, 68-64, in a nonconference men’s basketball game Saturday at Concordia.
Trailing, 37-30, Concordia outscored the visitors by 11 in the second half. Christian Heritage shot 58% from the floor in the first half, but was held to 40% in the second.
Pharoah Jones scored 17 points, Rick Haywood had 15, including three of three from the three-point line, and Jeff Putnam added 14 points and 12 rebounds for Concordia (7-4).
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Pomona-Pitzer 71, Southern California College 68--Mike Guevara and Eric Walker each scored 13 points in a losing cause for SCC (4-5).
In nonconference women’s basketball:
CS Fullerton 70, CS Northridge 60--Kari Kron scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds to lead CS Fullerton (2-5). Teammate Lee Moulin also scored 16 points for the Titans.
Chapman 74, La Verne 69--Chapman rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to win. Shawna Parkinson led the Panthers with 17 points.
San Diego State 72, Long Beach State 53--Jodi Nowlin scored 16 points and had 17 rebounds to lead San Diego State (4-1). Teammate Angela Walker had 15 points and Olivia DiCamilla had 13 points.
Kim Barfied and Janet Davis each scored 11 points for Long Beach State (2-3).
