USC has received a verbal commitment from one of the nation’s top high school football recruits, 300-pound offensive tackle Travis Claridge of Fort Vancouver, Wash.
The 6-6 Claridge said at a news conference Sunday night that he would soon sign a letter of intent for USC, where he made a recruiting visit two weekends ago.
“I loved Coach [John] Robinson, the USC campus and all the people I met there,” Claridge said Sunday night. “I want to one day be in the elite group of offensive linemen and I want to do it at USC.”
