Big Stripers Abound at Lake Skinner
It’s a good time to catch trout at most Southland lakes, but at Lake Skinner, it seems, it’s time to catch the fish that love to gobble up trout.
The Riverside County reservoir is yielding huge striped bass, Westchester’s Mark Lynn proved this week. He landed three large stripers, topped by a 34-pounder, on an Intruder lure.
San Jacinto’s Louie Lujan, using a homemade lure, also caught three stripers, the biggest 30 1/2 pounds.
It is no coincidence that one of the best bites is taking place at Ramp 2, site of the recent stocking of 2,000 pounds of trout.
