Janice L. Borchert, a six-year Thousand Oaks resident, died at a nursing home Thursday. She was 85.
A native of Joseph, Utah, Mrs. Borchert moved to Thousand Oaks in 1989 to be closer to her youngest son, Robert Hopkins Borchert of Thousand Oaks.
Robert Borchert described his mother as outgoing and a television fan. She enjoyed watching soap operas and doing housework, he said.
In addition to Robert Borchert, she is survived by her husband, Joseph Borchert of Thousand Oaks; another son, Joseph Borchert Jr. of Divide, Colo.; a sister, Olive Brackett of Salt Lake City, Utah; and six grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Griffin Mortuary in Thousand Oaks.
