Artists may apply now for next year’s City Hall art exhibits and competitions.
“Our preference is Orange County artists, but we have shows for artists outside the area also,” said Riki Kucheck of the city’s Arts Commission.
The city generally presents two art exhibits a year, Kucheck said. The current show, featuring works of Newport Beach artists, continues through Tuesday at City Hall.
Competitions usually take place twice a year, with the city purchasing one work from each of the two winners.
Artists working in any medium are eligible to compete. To be considered, the artist must submit 10 slides of his or her work to the Newport Beach Arts Commission through the Community Services Department, 3300 Newport Blvd. Information: (714) 759-0971.
