SIMI VALLEY : Baseball League Seeking Channel Cleanup Help
- Share via
Members of the Simi Valley Boys Baseball League are seeking volunteers to help them clear a clogged channel that could flood the league’s ball fields if left alone.
The cleanup is scheduled from 9 a.m. to dusk on Saturday, at the southeast corner of the league complex at 789 Irvine Road.
The Simi youth complex is vulnerable to flooding because it occupies a flood control dam basin. An adjacent cement culvert has become clogged with uncontrolled weeds and vegetation, which could wash out during heavy rains.
Ball fields used by the nonprofit league had thousands of dollars in damage during heavy rains in early 1993 and 1994.
