Nation IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : 3 Officers Face Trial in Motorist’s Death

Three white police officers accused of killing a young black motorist will stand trial on charges of involuntary manslaughter, a judge ruled. Allegheny County Judge James McGregor dropped charges of third-degree murder and official oppression against two of the officers in the death of Jonny Gammage. The third officer had been charged with involuntary manslaughter. Gammage, a cousin of Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Ray Seals, died in a tussle during a traffic stop on Oct. 12.
