Most cities in Ventura County will pick up Christmas trees through their curbside recycling programs.
In Camarillo, the Kiwanis Club has a special free pickup program for live trees, which will be planted in parks. Call 482-4762.
Trees can be dropped off free of charge at the following sites:
* Simi Valley Landfill
2801 Madera Road
7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Sunday
* Ojai Valley Recycling Center
on Old Baldwin Road, Ojai
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday
* Main and Mountain View streets,
Fillmore

* California Wood Recycling,
3450-A Auto Center Drive, Ventura
Call 650-8852 for hours
Plastic and metal stands have to be removed from the trees. Trees that have been sprayed with artificial snow cannot be recycled.
