2 Get Life Terms in Murder of Councilman’s Daughter

Two people convicted of the 1994 murder of a former El Segundo city councilman’s daughter and the attempted murder of her 12-year-old daughter were sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without parole.
Robert Foster, 20, and Erica Dawn Olson, 22, were convicted of the knife slashing and strangulation murder of Tairree Lynne West, 25, and the attack on her adopted daughter, Ashley.
Before the attack, West, daughter of former Councilman Alan West, had been helping out her homeless friend Olson, according to prosecutor Stephen Levine. Olson made plans to burglarize the apartment and murder West and her family after the two had an argument about Foster being a bad influence, Levine said.
