Slot Machine Maker’s CEO Resigns: David P. Hanlon left Reno-based International Game Technology to “pursue other interests” only 2 1/2 months after taking the job and one week before the company’s annual meeting, the company said. Charles N. Mathewson, the chairman of the largest maker of video slot machines, assumed Hanlon’s title. Hanlon joined IGT in January 1995 as president and chief operating officer after holding executive posts with Caesars and Harrah’s in Nevada and with Resorts International Inc. Mathewson said Hanlon’s departure was triggered less by the last quarter’s poor results than by the company’s foundering stock prices and next week’s annual meeting in Las Vegas.
