A suspected drunken driver was in custody after a crash in Paramount that killed his father, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
Jeffrey Brush, 27, of Hawthorne was booked for “gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated” following Monday night’s crash on the Garfield Avenue offramp from the eastbound Glenn M. Anderson Freeway, said Officer Louis Gutierrez of the East Los Angeles CHP office.
Brush was driving a 1982 Nissan 280Z on the offramp at an estimated 60 to 65 mph when the car collided with a Toyota on the offramp, Gutierrez said.
Brush’s father, O. C. Brush Jr., a 51-year-old Paramount man, died at the scene.
