Asian and Pacific Island students at Mount St. Mary’s College in Brentwood were the focus of an AIDS Awareness program Thursday at the school.
The AIDS program was a joint effort between the Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team, a nonprofit group that works to promote AIDS awareness among Asian and Pacific Islanders in Los Angeles, and the Asian Pacific Affiliation, a campus group.
“Most Asians don’t think that AIDS affects them,” said Que Dang, of the Intervention Team. “Asians don’t like to talk about sex publicly.”
