Volleyball/Middle Blocker
Reid, from Woodbridge High, stood tall for Orange Coast last week. He had 16 kills and five blocks Wednesday in a victory over Irvine Valley, 15-13, 15-12, 15-9. He was even more impressive Friday when Orange Coast and Golden West met for the Orange Empire Conference title. Reid had a team-high 27 kills and five blocks as the Pirates won, 15-12, 15-13, 15-7. Orange Coast hosts American River in the first round of the state tournament at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Sacramento.
Baseball
Chad Wanders
* Saddleback, sophomore. He pitched a four-hitter as Saddleback beat first-place Cypress, 7-3. It was his fourth consecutive complete game.
