A small house fire causing about $10,000 in damage Wednesday sent an Oxnard homeowner to the hospital with minor injuries.
Eugenia Scissom, 66, was treated for smoke inhalation and later released from St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
The fire, which started about 5 p.m. at 558 Holly Ave., was apparently caused by a blanket draped over a lamp, said Oxnard Fire Capt. Rod Thorp.
About 14 firefighters responded to the fire.
