. . . Orange County’s only public TV station, KOCE, was saved by Coast Community College District board members, who reversed a 1984 decision to phase out funding for the station.
District funding of the station had been challenged by faculty members in 1983 after budget cuts prompted the sending of layoff notices to 100 district teachers.
